Youth Groups

Hello St. Philip's!J
The Senior High group is up and running--literally!
J  If you stayed after church any given Sunday, you'd see a small group of senior highers, stuffing their faces with pizza while running pell-mell around the church, whether from the water guns or to find the missing flag.  It's been great having a group, at long last, for the senior highers. Of course we have to have some time chatting, so after the fun and games, we go into some wonderful music led by Matt Waggoner and a developing band--very fun!J  And then we chat and pray….I'm really enjoying them.
Thanks to everyone for a very successful car wash.  We made over $100--which is already being spent on equipment and food.  Thanks so much for your support.  After the car wash, we went out and had a wonderful lunch together.  Great job team!  We wrap up the month with a wacky Halloween party. As this goes to press, I am preparing for what will be a spooky night at St. Philip's--ask the youth about the games and which team won the grand prize…..
J
So next month….Let's start with the regular senior high meetings.  I would like to see that really blossom into a great place for the youth to come
WEEKLY to hang out with their friends and encourage each other.  Let's make that a goal--a weekly hang out…..We start at 11:30 and go until 1:30, lunch included, so bring $3 each week.
Next, Friday, November 9th, we are going roller skating!
J  Come ready to have fun together.  We'll go to the late night skate!  Bring money for skating and food--about $8.  We'll meet there and pick up will be there as well.
The youth will be auctioned off for work again with the Harvest Dinner.  But not only will they be auctioned off, but you get to be dazzled by their talents!
J  So, come ready to be entertained and get some work done around your house!!!
Finally, we will be participating in a community Thanksgiving dinner again.  We will be searching out which one we can participate in--so be ready for more news on this front.
Peace to you all!                       Jenny

Ladies' Fellowship Group

We had a great meeting on October 17th, during which we discussed our wide ranging views on Ann Lamott's "Traveling Mercies" as well as lots of other divergent topics!!! Our final meeting for 2001 will be on Wednesday 28thNovember at 7.00 p.m. at Wendy Harrison's house. This will be a potluck and I am also asking everyone to bring a "Holiday Reflection" to share atthis meeting: an anecdote, a prayer, poem, carol, picture, photo, quilt (!)etc. This is not supposed to be intimidating, but just a fun way to get us thinking and talking, whilst we are eating and drinking! I hope to see youthere!!!
