Hello St. Philip's
Senior Highers!

Well, the month of March has already come and gone!   Spring is here!   And with that, a new energy in all of our youth at church!  We'll be focusing on transformation this month---What is transformation?  Why are we called to be transformed?
The first thing I want to make sure the senior high youth remember is Happening!  Please mark it on your calendars and plan to attend!  It's April 19-21(see article page 5). I hope everyone attends, as it sounds like a wonderful way to spend a weekend with your friends. Simply, fill out the form I sent you and get it into the church!
J  And do this ASAP!!!
The next item I want to discuss is the difficulty in planning activities the youth can attend due to scheduling conflicts. So, if you want to participate in a discussion about this, please join the Youth Advisory Meeting on April 14th after church. Hopefully, we can find times that work better for everyone!
Along those lines---let's talk activities for the youth group. It's time we have another bigger and better scavenger hunt--so let's scrounge around the neighborhoods on Saturday, April 13th. We'll meet at the church at 10 AM and then have lunch afterward--sound good?  Bring money for lunch and a friend as well!
Then, April 26th, we will be making a dinner at the church. This time, we will make a dinner for the senior members of our congregation. We'll eat at 5 PM, so we'll start the dinner preparations right after school on Friday. I hope all of you make this very special dinner. It will be a time to connect with other wonderful members of our church. We'll sit down and eat all together. And for our evening entertainment---I think one of our famous talent shows is in order--so let's put one together!
So, Senior members of our congregation, please come join the senior highers for a wonderful, home cooked dinner in the Fellowship Hall Friday, April 26th at 5 PM. We hope to see you all there!

Blessings!                              Jenny

Fellowship Meeting

As the new Fellowship Coordinator on the Bishops Committee, I am looking ahead at the enormous wealth of sharing and hospitality, that exists within St. Philips. As a congregation, we are famous as a group that can, at the drop of a hat, create a buffet worthy of Martha Stewart. It actually makes me wonder how we all eat so well, yet we all stay so fit.  It must have something to do with the laughing and love that we all share when we get together at Coffee Time.  Witness the amazing spread of refreshment that we enjoyed on Easter Sunday. Thank you all for this and all the wonderful treats that we receive throughout the year.
So, as Nancy Jackson hands on the baton, or should I say the oven mitt, I would like to have a short meeting on Sunday, April, 7 after 10 a.m. service, for any and all who are interested in planning the Fellowship Calendar.  It will be exciting to have new and old faces present to brainstorm a few ideas.  Please join us, it's fun and very rewarding.
In order that we may all share the bounty following the service each week, I shall be calling everyone in turn to provide some snacks and juice.  I would be more than happy to make suggestions as to what to bring.  Also, please free to bring refreshments or juice at any time.  You don't have to wait for your turn.  The more the merrier!!  It is the sharing that makes this time together so special.
If you are not able to attend the meeting, but would like to share your thoughts, please feel free to email me or call me, Lucy Gowan.
