month for a great lesson from our Rite-13 curriculum.  We're still looking for a partner for Michelle Sanguinetti.  Let us know if you're interested!
We also did a neat class on prayer: we set up an altar in the community room and talked about what it means to pray.  The kids asked some huge questions, and we noticed that prayer isn't just about talking to God, but about leaving space for listening, too.  For today's youth, the speed at which they live their lives is blinding, and their stuffed schedules often don't equip them for big-time Listening.
Monopoly night was lots of fun, we sent Dennis down to get Chinese food for us while we started a monopoly game.  Serena Ellis, Andrew Olivier, Mike Powers (banker) Andrew Yabroff (realtor and bank robber) Claire Potts and I had a

great time.  We didn't figure
out Andrew Y's secret strategy for winning before pick up
time.  We'll have to wait til next time. Andrew O. left with the biggest pile of  money. Way
to go Andrew!
There's an overnight trip to Carmel I'd like to go to Nov. 16-17, let's get a crew together, and don't forget that the Pacific Edge trip is the Sunday after Thanksgiving.
See you at church!

We would also like to thank:

  • Sign City of Felton, who made the banner that hung on the Scotts Valley Chamber Wall and the sandwich board sign in front of the Church. Their partial donation helped us stay within budget!
  • Zanottos Family Market who supplied our pumpkins at cost.
  • Community Covenant Church for lending us
    tables
    .
  • Boy Scout Troop #614 with Robert Johnson Scoutmaster and Frans Lind together with boys from the troop for assisting with traffic control.
  • Scotts Valley Banner for running several articles about the event.
We are looking forward to the Second Annual Harvest & Holiday Arts and Craft Fair on

October 18, 2003!
