Theme for this Month:
The Power of One

Some thoughts from Sunday School the past few weeksCan one person make a difference?  What simple gesture, word or deed has changed your life?  How have you made a positive impact on someone? Look for a moment to do a "good deed," speak a word of encouragement.  How can we cope with the enormous amount of fear and anxiety that presented the last weeks in March?  How can we pray? (We look for one person, event, or idea that grabs us, and we make if our own by praying often and honestly.)

This Week:

Spiritual Formation Group now meeting at church on Sunday evenings from 7-8:15. Bring a Bible (and a candle). Last week we met on the floor of the Sanctuary with pillows and candlelight and talked about what it means to live a Christian life.

This Month:

April 4: Game Night.  This will be the first game night.  Come to church at 7:30 for movie/games/pizza.
April 13:  Stations of the Cross.  We will be using a modernized version of the Stations of the Cross. For those new to the Stations of the Cross (including myself), we will walk from "station" to "station," experiencing the last days of Christ on earth.
April 17: Maundy Thursday.  We have volunteered to participate in this Easter Week service by reading scripture, helping with music, and setting up chairs.  This service is "in the round."  See me if you would like to participate.

The United Thank Offering

The annual fundraising project of the Episcopal Church Women is gearing up for their Spring In-gathering.  Here at St. Philip's, the heating system in the classrooms is the result of a UTO grant not too long ago. UTO collects thank-offerings from churches and distributes grants all over the US and abroad. The UTO poster is on the bulletin board in the lobby, and collection boxes are available on the table.  ECW's Annual Meeting and spring ingathering will be on Saturday, May 17, at St Peter's in Morro Bay.  Find out more about ECW
