Show Your Brass for Easter

Attention brass players: If you play a brass instrument and you would like to be part of a "brass choir" for Easter, I have brass settings for most of the hymnal, and especially the Easter hymns. Please contact me if you are interested.

Fr. John+

Calling all Acolytes: Please join us for *Godspell* on Sunday, Feb. 1. We'll leave directly after church at 11:30am, stop for pizza at Round Table, and go on to the Park Hall in Ben Lomond for the show, which begins at 2pm. We'll confirm the 4:15pm pick up time at St. Philip's later this week. Please bring $15 per acolyte to cover lunch and ticket price.

Prepare ye the way of the Lord

To see thee more clearly, love thee
more dearly, follow thee more nearly

Text Box: I'll put a pebble in my shoe, and
watch me walk! I can walk, I can walk!
Text Box: He clothes thee with his love,
upholds thee with his truth

Middle School News

Interest in the Diocesan Ski Trip is minimal and the Middle Schoolers will not be attending this year. However, we've been given some tickets for the Golden Gate Ferry and I will be working with the other youth ministry team members to perhaps coordinate a trip to San Francisco. A likely destination includes Grace Cathedral, and whatever else our team can dream up

We've been giving some thought to our Rite-13ers since the ceremony is in March. This year we'll be pairing each Rite-13er with an adult mentor (not a parent but a godparent or other trusted adult) to do some lessons and activities together. A letter outlining the process will be sent to the parents of each Rite-13er by next week. Phone calls will go out next month to the parents of last year's Rite-13ers to provide the Rite-13 banquet.

A calendar of lessons is still in the works and will be published as soon as its finished.

We say goodbye to one of our intrepid Sunday school teachers, Judy Jones, after two years as a dedicated Middle School teacher.  Judy will be very missed and we wish her, Girault, Emma, and Harrison happiness, success, and fulfillment in their new home.

Text Box: Six-year-old Angie and her four-year-old brother Joel were sitting together in church. Joel giggled, sang, and talked out loud. Finally, his big sister had had enough. You're not supposed to talk out loud in church. "Why? Who's going to stop me?" Joel asked. Angie pointed to the back of the church and said, "See those two men standing by the door? They're hushers.”
Text Box: A father was at the beach with his children when the four-year-old son ran up to him, grabbed his hand, and led him to the shore where a seagull lay dead in the sand. "Daddy, what happened to him?" the son asked. "He died and went to Heaven," the Dad replied. The boy thought a moment and then said, "Did God throw him back down?"

“Get over it, Bruce! We’re really not going skiing!”

Carter’s Charters

Fortunately, Claire Mills will be able to join us again as bodyguard and driver. Looking forward to a great show.
