Senior Youth Close Out Another Great Year We had a great turnout for Easter: 20 of you! It reminded me how much I miss you guys when I don’t see you. We have been reading from a book called When God Whispers Your Name, with topics such as Heroes, Jesus and Parties, etc. It is an excellent book and we will continue with it for a while. THIS SUMMER: The only official event of the summer will be SPIRIT WEST COAST MUSIC FESTIVAL in Monterey, Laguna Seca. Save the dates of JULY 22-24. Lots of Christian bands, speakers, and camping (or hotel). We’ll talk about it. The Freshmen Wednesday Night Bible Study group, led by Marie, finished up May 19, 2004. It will take a break for the summer. Here are some pictures from last year’s Spirit West Coast. The Passage, The Passing, Your Passing Finally, the Juniors and Seniors will be given the opportunity to make a school year commitment to a program of “passage from teenager toward adulthood.” This will begin in the fall and require the desire to put personal faith to the test; the desire to learn new things about yourself, your world, your family; the desire to make and keep a spiritual commitment, and eventually, a spiritual journey to a place yet to be chosen, and sure to be life changing. This is a whole life program including communications skills, handling of money, personality types, spiritual gifts, and a lot more. I leave you with this to ponder and pray over:
Figure the Cost One day when large groups of people were walking along with him, Jesus turned and told them, “Anyone who comes to me but refuses to let go of father, mother, spouse, children, brothers, sisters--yes, even one's own self! -can't be my disciple. Anyone who won't shoulder his own cross and follow behind me can't be my disciple.” Is there anyone here who, planning to build a new house, doesn't first sit down and figure the cost so you'll know if you can complete it? If you only get the foundation laid and then run out, all they’ll say of you is that "He started something he couldn't finish.” "Simply put, if you're not willing to take what is dearest to you, whether plans or people, and kiss it good-bye, you can't be my disciple.” The Message, Luke, Chapter 14 I will seek Christ in all persons. (Baptism Vow … remember?) (With Gods help) Love you guys! And remember, it does not matter how long you have been unable to be in church or Sunday night Bible Study or whatever. You are ALWAYS welcome, anytime. God is. Sally Arcarese, Senior Youth Group Director |

Website Recommendation Fr. Martin would like to recommend the website http://www.explorefaith.org/ to the congregation as a very good resource on a wide range of spiritual issues. |
