Special thanks to co-chairs Nancy Jackson and Julie Levy for writing all the newsletter articles, taking care of the many business details, and for their sage advice and support in all aspects of the event! Thank you!!!

Our Third Annual Arts and Crafts Fair was a wonderful success. Even though the day was damp and drizzly, it was warm and inviting at St. Philip’s! Our parking lot was full all day long and we seemed to have a continuous stream of shoppers. We heard lots of comments about the excellent variety of crafts offered, the beautiful quilt display and friendly and helpful Church members!

We are waiting for the final advertising bills, but estimate we will net  $3500, roughly the same amount as last year!

We are very appreciative of the support of our congregation and willingness to volunteer at the event. We have many people to thank for helping to make the Craft Fair such a success:

THANK YOU TO:

Jack Doscher for his time and experience in developing and coordinating our advertising. We were able to place paid ads in the Scotts Valley Banner and Santa Cruz Sentinel. In addition, The Valley Post, Scotts Valley Times, Metro, Good Times and Mercury News ran PSA’s and/or included us in their calendars!

Karin & Bruce Clift for designing the advertisements which were placed in the publications mentioned above. Also thanks to Karin and Sheryl McEwan for distributing flyers.

Lucy Gowan for again organizing the food concession. The menu was excellent and well thought out. The breakfast and lunch items were delicious – from the donuts to fruit bowls, to chicken salad sandwiches and fantastic soups (yum!). Since the day was cool and damp, soup was a very popular item!!

Sara DeRouchey for organizing the Bake Sale. We had a fantastic assortment of baked goods. Especially popular were the quiches and pecan pies as well as cookies, brownies and cakes. Thanks go to Sara also for organizing the “Cookie Mix in a Jar” and donating all of the supplies!

The Bake Sale and Food Sales alone netted more than $900!!! Thank you  to everyone who contributed to the Bake Sale and/or food concession. You obviously made a difference and helped in our fund raising efforts!!

The 22 Vendors who paid a booth fee and 15% of their sales to St. Philip’s, including our own Nancy Connor, Janet Duncan, Val Jackson, Ying Liang, Donna Seelbach, and Kim Schultz.

Sheryl McEwan and Barbara Lyon for decorating the front door/entry of the Church and making it look so inviting!
