A Sad Farewell Brings
Change and Growth

We are in the midst of saying goodbye to Fr. Martin and his family, but Annie will remain among us.  I am personally grateful to Fr. Martin for his faithfulness to the church, and to my family over the years.  He is a man of wisdom and commitment and I feel fortunate to have had him as our pastor.

But I also know that every change, move, and loss can bring up old feelings we have stored away in our brains, or cells. This makes it difficult sometimes to separate our past experiences from the current event happening. Just food for thought. How do you react when someone moves? Do you write them off immediately or hang onto them for dear life? Do you pretend it isn’t happening? Whatever your process, think about it and gain a little more information about yourself.  And remember, “The Lord is my Shepard, I shall not want.”  Or “ The Lord will take care of me and meet my true needs.” Psalm 23

The Wednesday night Bible study that started last fall, led by Marie Sanguinetti, continues as we broaden the members from Freshmen (now Sophomores) to all who have desire to attend. We may have some older group member lead small groups if necessary, but we shall see what God brings to us.

YOU will be the leaders of next year when our Seniors move on!!!!

Congratulations to my new Godson, Sam Gordon who was newly baptized in October with football team in attendance!

REMINDER!!!!  No Sunday School November 28th. The last Sunday of each month will be in church. NO SUNDAY SCHOOL ON THE LAST SUNDAY—remember, this may be the 4th or 5th week of the month.

Have You Hugged One of Our
Awesome Middle Schoolers Today?

A Very Big THANK YOU to our wonderful Middle Schoolers who helped provide childcare for the shoppers at our Harvest Festival.  This was wonderful in three ways: One, most Middle Schoolers fulfilled a large part of their community service hours that day,  Two, the children of the shoppers didn’t have to go shopping with their folks, which is boring, and Three, the parents of small visitors got to shop without having to parent at the same time, which is nerve-wracking.  We thank Julie Levy for providing us with 50 pumpkins, Sheryl Germany for providing warm pumpkin tea cakes to the babysitters, and a hot raspberry mocha to the Middle School coordinator.

Middle Schoolers: Permission slips are due for 24 Hours on October 31st.

Middle School Teachers: Please sign up for the Safe Church Seminar on November 6th.

Parents of Middle Schoolers: Note Parent Meeting #2 on November 21; plan on staying after church.

Love,
Carter Potts, Middle School Coordinator

The Senior High Youth Group presented Fr. Martin
and his two youngest children, Andrew and Thomas,
with gifts at the farewell service on October 24.
