Marriage Encounter

Does God care about your marriage? You bet!

Find out how much on an Episcopal Marriage Encounter weekend! Marriage Encounter is 44 hours where married couples can get away from jobs, kids, chores, and phones – and focus only on each other. If you’d like greater depth, growth, and enrichment in your relationship, you’ll like the difference an Episcopal Marriage Encounter weekend can make.

Weekends are scheduled for October 8-10 in Sunnyvale, and November 19-21 in Pleasanton. Go to: www.episcopalme.com Registration is limited so a quick response is encouraged. St. Philip’s John and Janet Duncan will be the clergy couple at both of these weekends.

Text Box: Altar Flowers
Flowers help remind us of all we have to be thankful for or to celebrate: birthdays, anniversaries, and other special occasions. Flowers at the altar add beauty to our Sanctuary. We can order them from Perry's Floral, or you could bring them -- even from your garden or the farmers market. Call the church office or talk with Fr. Martin if you have questions, then sign up on the poster on the bulletin board in the foyer.

Diocesan Fall Conference

To the Clergy and Laity of the Diocese of El Camino Real: An Invitation from the Standing Committee. We invite you to come join us on September 11 for our first fall conference:

Forgiving the Past, Living into the Future

As in any family, when sharing both joy and sorrow, we are called to be compassionate companions to one another and to live together in authenticity, trust, and respect.

So whether you yourself are weary and heavy-laden, ready to sprint on, or listening for a still small voice - you are encouraged to join your brothers and sisters in El Camino Real for this next step in our journey toward the future.

Responding to the positive energy from last May’s Lay and Clergy Conferences, and your many requests to set aside time for healing and reconciliation, we are delighted to offer another day-long gathering.

This Diocesan Gathering will begin in worship. Our preacher will be the Rev. Dr. William Countryman, Sherman E. Johnson Professor in Biblical Studies at the Church Divinity School of the Pacific. The day will offer deeply enriching experiences of Gospel stories of healing and forgiveness, prayer, music, panel presentations, small group discussions and visioning for the future. Lunch will be provided. All are welcome and encouraged to attend this day, as we move forward together into God’s future for us.

Text Box: Gardens ALREADY?!?
Sure, it’s a long time before next year’s Spring Garden Tour, but the process of finding gardens has already started. If you know of a beautiful garden that would make a nice addition to our tour, please contact Sheryl McEwan.

The Married Singles Lifestyle describes couples that may have lost a sense of closeness they once had as marriage partners and are living more like roommates. This program has helped tens of thousands of couples experiencing difficulty at all levels of marital distress from disillusionment to deep misery.
