Dinner Group Invitation

The next round of dinners for St. Philip’s Dinner Group participants will be held in April and May. For all of you in the St Philip’s congregation please feel welcome to join in the dinner

groups and partake of this interesting, uplifting, entertaining and very enjoyable experience. It does not matter if you are married or single and there is no age discrimination. Getting to know fellow church members is a very warm and enlightening experience. Some people host dinners while others do not. Each member of the dinner group brings a food item to the host house so the host does not do all the work. The groups are anywhere from 6 to 9 people, and a series of dates are set up from which to choose. The groups are rotated so we get to meet and know everyone more closely.

Please consider joining us for this lovely and rewarding church fellowship experience  There is a sign-up sheet in the church foyer and if you have any questions please contact me.

Thank you to all who have participated in past dinner groups and made them such a wonderful experience.

Bon appetit!

A Farewell Message From Our Church Secretary

Lots of changes are happening at St. Philip's, especially behind the scenes, as we prepare in our search for a new permanent vicar. After several years of helping in the church office and acting as church secretary, I will be leaving as of the end of March. I have really enjoyed working with the people of St Philip's Church. Thank you to all of you who make this church possible and who put so much time and energy into doing the good work of this church.

             Mary Rhodes, Church Secretary

Quarterly Teacher’s Meeting

At their quarterly meeting held on Sunday February 13, St. Philip’s Sunday School teachers met to discuss the current status of our Sunday School program. We talked about the curriculum and are in the process of reviewing a video series. We're settling into Lent with the 3rd-5th graders preparing to play their annual Lenten Game, the K-2's keeping Gratitude Journals for Lent, and the Preschoolers keeping a Lenten Flower to count the days to Easter. We look forward to Palm Sunday and then Easter with our traditional Easter Egg

Hunt. We will have eggs for filling available before the big day. We all agreed we are grateful for the custodial care of our classrooms!

Come Break Some Plates For a Good Cause

Sheryl McEwan will be holding ongoing broken-plate mosaic sessions at church on
select Fridays and Saturdays from 9:30am – 2pm. The stepping stones, picture frames, plaques, birdbaths etc. will be sold at the 2005 English Tea and Garden Tour fundraiser in May. Broken-plate mosaic is easy and fun to do and a wonderful way to contribute to the success of this very important fundraiser. If you are interested in attending one or more sessions, please call Sheryl to confirm which days she will be at church.

Special

Acknowledgment

The congregation of St. Philip’s wishes to express its deepest thanks and appreciation to Mary Rhodes for six wonderful years as church secretary.  Through her hard work, dedication, and expertise Mary has kept our church running smoothly and efficiently as she has performed a multitude of highly varied tasks including the coordination of facilities usage, scheduling of events, telephone, email, and letter communications, and production of the Sunday bulletins. With her intimate knowledge of virtually every aspect of the church, her kind and patient assistance to all who have sought her help, and her unwavering dedication to St. Philip’s, Mary is and has been a tremendous asset to St. Philip’s and we have been incredibly lucky to have her as our church secretary.  Dearest Mary, you will be sorely missed!
