This year’s Garden Tour will feature six or seven gardens from Santa Cruz to Scotts Valley and Felton. The gardens will be available to tour from 10am to 4pm.

The very popular English Tea Luncheon will be available by reservations at various seating times. Lucy Gowan and Vicky Granger-Jones have graciously agreed to organize the tea (thankfully!) and we are looking forward to their wonderful variety of goodies.

Also, we would again like to have garden-related art items for sale at the church during the Tea Luncheon. If you would like to have items for sale, or would consider donating one or more items, please contact us.

Sheryl McEwan will be holding ongoing broken-plate mosaic sessions at church on select Fridays and Saturdays from 9:30am – 2pm. The stepping stones, picture frames, plaques, birdbaths etc. will be sold at the 2005 English Tea and Garden Tour fundraiser in May. Broken-plate mosaic is easy and fun to do and a wonderful way to contribute to the success of this very important fundraiser. If you are interested in attending one or more sessions, please call Sheryl  to confirm which days she will be at church.

Back by popular demand is the very successful Raffle! We already have several items donated, but still need a few more. If you can donate a garden-related item for the raffle, please call Sheryl McEwan

We are looking forward to our third annual Garden Tour and Luncheon and hope you can join us! Tickets for the Tour and Luncheon will be available for sale in April.

Text Box: Teapots Needed
We are hoping to create a display of pretty teapots on the parish hall bookshelves to add a charming ambience to the English Tea Luncheon. They will be for decorative purposes only and be kept safely on the shelves the whole day. If anyone has teapot(s) they would be willing to lend us for this display, please contact Karin Clift. Thank you very much.

The Bishop’s Committee met for its annual retreat on March 11-12.  We met for dinner at Julie Edwards Levy’s beautiful home (thanks to Julie and Karen Krestensen for the delicious meal!)  The following morning we met at Community Covenant for the retreat.  We started with a team-building exercise, sharing our MBTI personality types and discussing their consequences.  We found that as an “ENFP” team we need to make sure we are staying in touch with the congregation, listening to their needs and not moving forward too quickly.

Next we talked about the impact of Fr. Martin’s departure and the various ways that we are dealing with that event.  We thought it was important for people to have an opportunity to talk about the way that his departure has affected them. We also worried about underappreciated

lay leaders, and discussed a weekly appreciation of the various groups doing valuable work for the church.

Following a lunch (delivered by Karen – thank you for your continued support of the BC, Karen!), Julie Levy and Francis Honey prepared a wonderful spiritual meditation for all of us.

Bill DeRouchey presented a report from the Building Committee.  There are many alternatives to repairing the Sunday School wing which are being considered including building an entirely new wing.  No decisions have been made, and we are open to suggestions from the congregation.

Finally, we developed a list of the skills needed for the people who may be asked to serve on the Transition and Search Committees.
