2005 Big Basin to the Sea Hike

How is it possible that a group of friends who know each other so well, can spend the day in warm and casual company with each other, hiking 11 miles (or is it 12?), from Big Basin to the Ocean and still find so much to talk about all day?  It is possibly because that's what we do at St. Philip's!

Once again, a trusty band of intrepid hikers met at the Park and Ride last Saturday, on a beautiful morning, armed with sturdy shoes, water bottles and cameras, giggling and as excited as 6th graders.

This year, I wore a new hat as "Head Cook and Bottle Washer" coordinating the Picnic at Greyhound Rock.

Didn't they make a movie of that?

Anyhow, there were about 20 hikers this year, including a huge gaggle of teenage girls, led by Kelsey , and a Junior League which included Jessica and Katrina.

There were new faces, including Susan Seaburg, Judy Allen and her co-worker, and Tod Connor.  How can it be that Tod has been a part of St. Philip's since Day One and this is the first Big Basin Hike he has joined in on?

So, having taken the statutory picture, we bade farewell, and off they went on the bus to Big Basin.
