Search and Transition UpdateIT’S ALMOST HERE!!The Transition Committee has almost completed its task of finishing the profile. It has been put into a single document on the computer and formatted, complete with photos of life at St. Philip’s, thanks to Tod Connor. We are currently editing the document in preparation for submission to the Bishop’s Committee for approval. It should be on the St. Philip’s website sometime in November. There will also be some hard copies available for those of you who do not access the internet. For interested members, the results of the data collected via the survey will be reported to the congregation tentatively on Sunday, November 13, at a meeting right after each service. Everything you will read in the profile reflects the results of the surveys you completed. Upon approval by the Bishop’s Committee, the profile and the data from the survey will be handed on to the Search Committee, and they will begin their task. Your narrative answers to the various open-ended questions will give them good information for screening the personal and professional profiles of prospective candidates and in later interviews. Thank you for all of your input via the survey and for your patience. Karen Krestensen |
We Come Bearing Cookies!During this time of Transition, your Bishop’s Committee has tried to keep connected to you via the telephone tree. Our intention has been to keep the members of St. Philip’s fully informed as to the process, and exactly what we do toiling away in the Blue Room on the third Monday of each month! As we approach the General Meeting, we would like to come and visit you in your homes, so that you may have the chance to raise any questions large or small, or talk about how the church is running, where we are in the process of seeking a settled priest for St. Philip’s, or even why we never seem to get started on time! Therefore, starting next week, you may expect a call from a member of the Bishop’s Committee to set a time to come to your home. We will even come bearing the very best of home-made cookies! Peace! |
