Fruit of the Spirit

A Learn It - Live It Bible Study

You are all invited to Group Bible Study at the home of Vicky Granger-Jones. There are few better ways to grow faith than to study the living Word of God in a safe and supportive environment.  During these group meetings, we'll study relevant Scripture passages and discuss thought-provoking questions. Jesus doesn't tell us to simply learn about him, he asks us to become like him in thoughts, words, and actions. In these studies, we will not only be challenged to learn more about God, but to put into practice what we've learned in a powerful and meaningful way. Whether you're new to Bible study or a seasoned pro, you'll find each lesson interesting, compelling, and providing opportunities for growth.

The nine-session Bible Study focuses on Galatians 5:22-23, the Fruit of the Spirit. The Christians in Galatia were confused about their faith. Error had crept into their teaching, and the church was becoming more legalistic. Paul wrote to the Galatians to call them back to the gospel of grace. Paul passionately urged the Galatians to live a life of freedom in the Holy Spirit

rather than to fall back into the practice of living by the law. This Bible Study shows us how Living by the Spirit produces the Fruit of the Spirit and helps us to explore these qualities in our own lives.

We will be meeting on occasional Mondays; participating in the whole series would be great, but each study can stand alone. Mark your calendars and try to come when you can!

Bible Study will be from 10.00 - 11.30 a.m.

New Co-Chairs Needed for Annual St. Philip's Craft Fair

Julie and I have thoroughly enjoyed co-chairing the last four Arts & Crafts Fairs and we hope this annual and very popular event will continue!

However, as you may know, Val and I will be moving to Washington State next year and Julie and her family will be traveling for at least the first half of 2006. Julie and I can no longer continue as co-chairs. :-(

This event brings in at least $4,000 which is much needed by St. Philip's. At least half of our vendors have already said they want to be in the Fair again next year.

It is time for new and fresh bodies to take over! Most of the work is already done and Julie and I are preparing a report including a timeline and database of all current and past vendors. The job is spread out over 5 - 6 months, beginning with the mailing of letters of "invitation" to participate in the Arts & Crafts Fair, and ends with the event. The day before and the day of are the most time consuming.

So, if you would consider co-chairing this event, talk to some friends and see if they would do it with you. It is NOT a lot of work. Two or three co-chairs would be ideal!

Of course, if you have any questions, please feel free to talk to either Nancy Jackson or Julie Levy.

Thank you for your consideration.
