So much going on! The plan is to do a lot of fun stuff until the end of March, then back off the social schedule to work on a little music for Palm Sunday and Easter, when of course you young people will want to spend a little extra time with your families. The St. Philips Snow Day Trips are for everyone, we’ll go to the closest, cheapest resorts to ski (or ride) it won’t be preplanned, prepaid, packaged or anything else, we just go up together, buy tickets, ski all day and meet somewhere for dinner and gas on the ride home. Like going with friends, (duh). The advantage is we can rearrange all the kids so they can ride up with their friends all in the same vehicle. Special Just for Senior Highers: ETC, etcetera is a newish Episcopal Teen Community based in Santa Clara, (30 minute drive) who have invited us to join their monthly parties. This month its an Epiphany Party at St. Timothy’s in Mt. View. I’ve heard VERY good things about these fun events so let’s check them out. I’ll drive over the hill, I’ll bring another adult with me, and here’s the schedule: ETC Fri., Jan. 20 6pm meet at St. Philips, back before 10pm. ETC Fri. Mar. 24 6p.m. meet at St. Philips, back by 10pm. ETC Fri. Apr. 21 St. Philip’s invites ETC for Sr. High Event in Scotts Valley (Beach bonfire?) For Middle School and High school Musicians: Folk Mass Rehearsal Sun., Jan. 15 during Sunday School, and after church with choir. Folk Mass Rehearsal Sun., Jan. 22, please arrive with instruments before 9:20am. Peace Canon Practice Sun., Jan. 29 at a private home, call Tamah and Carter for location information. For Everybody: Snow Day Trip #1 for St. Philip’s families: 4:30am Feb. 4 returning 8:30pm. Snow Day Trip #2 for St. Philip’s families: 4:30 am (TBA depending on success of day trip #1 possibly Mar. 4) Diocesan Overnight Snow Trip for Jr. and Sr. Highers to Dodge Ridge 4:30am Feb. 25, returning Feb. 26 8:30pm. Parents wishing to attend should see Carter for application materials. For Rite 13ers Rite 13 Ceremony will be during 10am service Mar. 26! Rite 13 Banquet for Celebrities and Parents will be 7pm. Mar. 25 in the Parish Hall. You’ve worked hard but we need to squeeze in a few more lessons before the big day! We’re considering playing some music that day, so Tamah will be helping us to get ready, too, I’ll ask the parents to bring lunch and we’ll stay after church.
