Over spring break this year, Young Life of Santa Cruz took a group of about 60  young people to Rosarita Mexico to build two houses for a  family of 12.   The houses were very small only 10 x 20'.

We each  raised money and then able to purchase and take all of the materials that we needed.  We camped out and had no showers for a week.  Groups came from all over the U.S.  There were over 1000 people all helping families build homes.  It was a great experience and I met lots of new people and I hope to do it again next  year!

Joey Bertran is now a senior at Scotts Valley High School and has come a long way. He was accepted to UCLA into the Design and Media Arts department. There were over 47,000 freshman applicants to UCLA from across the country and only 23 students were accepted into his particular department. This is quite a milestone for Joey and we are all so proud of him.

Both Jaime and Joey were always very active with St. Philip's since they were 4 and 2 years old. Jaime is now in her junior year at Sonoma State University and will be finishing up as a senior next year with a BS degree in Business Administration.
