Spring Garden Tour and English Tea Luncheon: Saturday May 13th, (Mother’s Day Weekend) from 10a.m. to 4p.m. Tickets are $25.00 for the tour and luncheon ($30.00 at the door). Luncheon is served from 11:30-1:30p.m. This is a self guided tour of seven private gardens. Call Janet Duncan to order a ticket, 688-1383, or visit www.stphilip-sv.org. A volunteer sign up sheet is posted in the foyer.

Habitat for Humanity is building two studio homes in Santa Cruz for sale to low income families. A flyer with income levels and more details on the orientation dates is available in the foyer. Please call the Habitat office at 685-0671 for more information.

Please sign up for your pledge for the “Search and Moving Fund for a Settled Priest”. The forms are included in the bulletin. Please mark your checks for “Search Fund”. Airline miles are also requested. The goal is to raise $20,000.00!

Valley Churches United Missions is doing their 16th annual “Buck for Hunger Drive”. The canisters for donations are found in the foyer. Donations are needed year round to operate their direct aid program that provides people with emergency assistance.

Cindy de Mayo Gin Sing, Calvary Episcopal Church Choir invites you to a Cinco de Mayo Gin Sing on Saturday, May 6th, from 6p.m.-8p.m. Join Calvary Church for an evening of distinctive gin, wine tasting, hors d’oeuvres, and beautiful a cappella choral music, all with a Latin flavor! The samples of Gin are Santa Cruz’s own hand-crafted Sarticious gin. The “Gin Sing” benefits Calvary’s Choral Scholarship program enabling music students, from all area colleges, to earn a stipend for singing with the choir and to gain experience as professional musicians. Spotlight on the Wonderful St. Philip’s Renters

This month: Ed Jenkins, Hugh Olsen, and Eric Fischer of

Goal Line Investments

 

Goal Line Investments is one of our first renters.  Goal Line is co-owned by Ed Jenkins, Hugh Olsen and Eric Fischer.  They are a land development and property investment company.  The company allows a group of smaller investors, a chance to reap the rewards of real estate investment.  They cater to the average investor that has money in a CD or the like.  They sell shares starting as low as $5,500 in projects both in Northern California and Nevada.

Between the three men they have nearly 50 years experience in all phases of property development, including, purchase, design, permits, project management, leasing, construction and sales. Ed the founder, a project manager for Granite Construction sees the investments as 9 months to a year, with an average return of 12 - 30%.

All three men are active in their community.  Hugh is the Harbor High School Varsity football coach, Ed is their Junior Varsity coach and Eric has been helping the football team at Scotts Valley High School for four years now.   Please call Goal Line at 430-9890 for more information, or stop by some evening.
