Rediscover Your Marriage

Retrouvaille (pronounced retro-vi with a long i) simply means 'rediscovery'. The program offers the chance to rediscover yourself, your spouse, and a loving relationship in your marriage. 10's of 1000's headed for divorce have successfully saved their marriages by attending.

Retrouvaille is a not spiritual retreat, not a sensitivity group, not a seminar, not a social gathering. For confidential information about, or to register for the September program beginning with a weekend on September 8-10 call 831-479-1260 or email: Monterey@RetroCA.com or visit the web site at www.RetroCA.com

Locks of Love

Locks of Love provides hairpieces to financially disadvantaged children with long term medical hair loss.  This summer, Jessica donated an 11" pony tail to the organization and is now sporting a new short hairstyle, which she is thrilled about.

Her mother, however, is trying to get over how grown up her “little girl” looks!  If you have over 10" of hair and would like to help this organization there are many salons who participate in the program.

Rotten Ramparts which
Wrathful Rains Wrought

Perhaps the least noticed maintenance problem at St. Philip's, but one with the most visual impact on our neighbors, is our six-foot high back fence. It borders the road which serves those who live up the hill behind us. The fence is so rotten that, following the barrage of rainstorms this past winter, several sections just fell over with other sections leaning grotesquely.

Thanks from Food For The Poor

I can’t stress enough how important you are to the poor.  Your compassion is helping to build miracles in the Lord’s name.  Because of your generous gift of $2000, you’ve helped Food For The Poor provide housing for the destitute.  Thanks to you, another family is seeing a miracle happen before their eyes!

Know that the Lord works wonders for the faithful; the Lord hears when I call out.” (Psalm 4:4)

I’ve enclosed a photo of the Simon family and their new house. (original photo and letter are posted on the church notice board)  Because you decided to act on behalf of the poorest of the poor, tonight there will be one less family sleeping in a garbage dump, in a slum, or in a leaky shack.  Your kindness and compassion have allowed a family to experience something they haven’t felt in a long time — hope.

The good we can accomplish together when God’s people work to create miracles in His name is amazing.  Through collective Christian charity, we will continue to build miracles, one family at a time. We are truly grateful for your decision to join with us in this effort to house the suffering poor.  Thank you and may God invoke the richest blessings upon you and your family.

A special THANK YOU to Jack Doscher and Donna Seelbach for their dedicated leadership on this wonderful project!!!

To the rescue came a retired banker named Don Roth, an 8-o'clocker not known for dexterity with a post hole digger, or for buying and transporting 8-ft 4x4 posts and 80 lb. bags of cement, or for mixing cement in a wheelbarrow. But there he was, and the professional looking fence rebuilding job is nearly finished. Drive up the back road and take a look. . Next time you see Don, say: "Thanks". And you might volunteer to help him finish the job.
