Thanksgiving Ingathering

On Sunday, November 19, at 8 and 10 am, we will have both a thanksgiving “in-gathering” of our Stewardship Commitment Cards and a thanksgiving for God’s abundant gifts. Families are invited to sign up to bring gifts symbolic of God’s creation: a pitcher of milk to represent God’s gift in creation of animals and all they give us; a basket of fruit and vegetables to represent abundant sources of food in our land; gifts of our labors such as “laptop computers”, books if you’re a librarian, a broom if you are a custodian, a stethoscope if you’re a doctor, and bread as a sign of God’s good grains that sustain our bodies and help us build the “body of Christ”, or wine as a sign of our covenant with Christ as he shed his blood after sharing the cup of salvation.  Please contact Pastor Mary (438-4360) if you and/or your family wish to bring a “gift of abundance”.

Community Thanksgiving Eve Service

All are welcome to a Community Thanksgiving Eve Service to be held on November 22 at 7 pm at Community Covenant Church, 2700 El Rancho Dr., Scotts Valley.  If you are interested in participating, please contact Pastor Mary at the Church Office, 438-4360.

St. Philip’s, AKA
           Grand Central Station

Life at St. Philip’s is never dull, but this month has been filled with a spectacular number of events and activities!!!

We have opened our doors to bless a wide variety of animals and owners.  Even Saint Francis would have been moved by the service and well behaved animals!

Over a period of several weeks some faithful persons
have cleaned, weeded, repaired and painted the parish
hall ceiling.

Many months of preparation allowed us to host the wonderfully successful Harvest Fair. We welcomed hundreds of people to eat, shop and enjoy the beautiful quilts.

The last Saturday of the month we greeted Bishop Romero and many clergy persons along with numerous parishioners, friends and family for Pastor Mary's installation as our new vicar!  The service and music were moving and inspirational!  Every seat was filled!  The lunch following was delicious and beautifully arranged in both the Parish Hall and Garden Patio areas.

Each week's diverse activities have been filled with a growing spirit of LOVE and INSPIRATION!!!

Resounding THANKS go to all the people who did the "behind the scenes" work to prepare and run each event!!! More and more it looks like St. Philip's is the place to be!  Each week is an adventure!  It's time to come, invite your friends and join us!!!
