Where Have All the Singers Gone?I know that there must be more voices out there in the congregation just waiting to burst out in singing! Seriously, though, we could really use some more voices for the choir. We don't expect perfect voices (otherwise I wouldn't be part of it!), just people who find joy in the music and want to share it. The commitment is not great - rehearsals are held after the 10 am service every Sunday for 20 minutes or so for those who are available that week, and we ask members to arrive a little early on Sundays we are singing in the service, for a run-through. So how about letting more than your shampoo bottle be blessed by your singing? We'd like to have a good showing for Christmas and we'll be starting to work on those pieces before too long. Come join us and let your heart sing along with your voice. Jane Ellis, Music Committee |
Thank You!As many of you know, I am convalescing after a surgery to get rid of a particularly nasty and hard to get rid of infected abscess. I have been overwhelmed by the kind wishes, cards, offers of help and, most especially, by your prayers; prayers which I am convinced spared me a second surgery. I would like this opportunity to thank everyone for being so wonderful; the community of St. Philip's has truly helped me through this difficult time. Vicky Granger-Jones |
