Prayers Requested for a Beloved Son on His Way to Iraq

As some of you may already know, my middle son, Brock, is being deployed to Iraq for the Army on February 8th. Brock will serve as a Corporal Combat Medic Specialist (soon to become a Sergeant) in Baghdad. After Brock graduated from Colorado State with a degree in Biology he enlisted in the Army. He completed his basic training in Georgia and completed his medic training in San Antonio. He was then sent to South Korea on the DMZ border. After completing a year there he was sent to Kansas and immediately left for Desert Training in the Mohave Desert. Upon completing that training he was given his orders to report to Iraq. Our family was able to spend the holidays with him at home before he leaves. My husband and I will be going to Kansas at the beginning of February to learn what we are to expect while he is away. At that time I will have an address where Brock can receive letters and care packages. Many of you have expressed an interest in writing to Brock which I know he will appreciate very much. I will also learn what the soldiers need most in care packages. (I have heard deodorant and cookies are high on the list!) Please keep Brock in your prayers as well as all the men and women who are fighting in this war. Please pray for a swift end to the war, so we can bring our family members home. Thank you so much.

Prayers Sought for Two
Treasured Grandsons
in Service

Bobbie and Hank Bond have two grandsons currently serving in the military.

Bless our soldiers Lord. Bring them home safe, free their hearts of anxiety and despair, give them courage, strength and faith in you Lord.

God of lasting peace, watch over those who are fighting in harms way. Set your angels around them to keep them safe. Give them hope, fill their hearts with peace, so they may endure these days when peace seems so far away.

Prayers Asked  for a
Cherished Son in the Navy

Robin Boroughf, close friend of Bruce and Karin Clift and Godmother of their daughter Rachel, has a son named Nicholas currently serving at the rank of E4 in the Navy at Pearl Harbor.

Our Spiritual Life

Army private John Bond is currently stationed in Germany where he is receiving special training as a tank driver in possible preparation to deploy to Iraq a year from now.  John’s interests include four-wheeling, video gaming, country music, and target shooting.  His girlfriend is Jessica.

Christopher Bond is an Aircraft Mechanic II  in the navy stationed in San Diego. He previously spent three years working as a hydraulic mechanic in the Blue Angels after which he was promoted to a small and elite group of naval mechanics who work on the newest most high-tech military jets. His interests include martial arts, exotic cars, and Japanese culture.  Christopher is married to Rachael and has two stepsons, Sebastian age 12 and Tristen age 10.

A year after high school, Nick joined the Navy and was sent to the Defense Language Institute in Monterey where he was taught Mandarin and then posted to Pearl Harbor where he works as a Chinese linguist for Naval Intelligence.

Nick is a life-long athlete who loves football, baseball, and soccer.  He received all-league honors as a kicker for Santa Cruz High before transferring to Scotts Valley High where he was also a kicker and from which he graduated in 2003 (the first graduating  class from SVHS).
