We are all looking forward very much to the St. Philip’s family snow trip on January 26, 2007 to start our new year. We went Christmas caroling with some families from St. John’s before Christmas, then were hosted lavishly by one of the St. John’s families in their beautiful home. It was particularly nice because the weather outside was frightful indeed. Sunday morning youth meetings continue to provide support and encouragement to our young people. We are becoming accustomed to the changes in format, starting first in our Sunday school classroom and going into church at the Peace. The middle/school high school kids would dearly love some sofas for the community room. We’re not missing the old yucky sofas but the hard chairs aren’t that inviting. (We had a small amount of whining this week.) We will continue to meet monthly, more or less with St. John’s for various activities, and we’re looking forward to the sleep-away event in March. Finding myself unsuccessful in building a group of older Sr. Highers, I think I’ll put the Sr. High Calendar to rest for now until St. Philip’s can staff it properly. Sorry guys, I wish I could do both. Many thanks go out to the youth music leaders who worked hard to help the Gen-14 youth band learn new songs, and organized their playing at the Christmas Pageant. Many thanks also to the wonderful young musicians who participate in this wonderful ministry. Kelsey, acoustic guitar, Hannah, electric bass, Jonny electric guitar, Tim and William , percussion, Lauren , vocals and flute, Taylor , vocals, Serena , vocals. Thanks also to Kira the puppy who waits patiently in the music director's office while her family is playing music. We’ll see you at Tahoe! |
