High-flying Aaron Liang can get to the ball anywhere

Aaron Liang has made the 1993 Boys ODP Super-Y League Select Team.  Over the course of the season, the top U.S. players in the USL Super Y-League were selected to attend the ODP National Camp. During an intense three-day combine at the ODP National Camp, players were evaluated by ODP Staff Coaches and US Soccer National Coaching Staff for U.S. National Team Programs. In addition to the primary focus of identifying players to U.S. National Team Programs, many collegiate coaches were scouting players for college soccer programs.

This weekend, Aaron will be attending the State Cup in Modesto.  Aaron plays sweeper on the SCC Breakers 92 Boys Team.

Coaches Bob Evans and Steve Dodds of the 1995 Matlock Mighty Molars coed under-8 soccer team announced recently that they are proud to have two alum players – 12 years later – become all league players and compete in the section finals for their High School divisions in the Central Coast Section (San Francisco to Monterey).

Stephanie Dodds, a senior at Scotts Valley High School, was selected to the Santa Cruz Coast Athletic League, All League team as a defender.  The Scotts Valley Falcons made it all the way to the Championship game of the Division III Central Coast Section with Scotts Valley losing 0-1 in overtime.

Simon Evans, also a senior, played midfield for Bellarmine College Preparatory in San Jose, and was selected to the West Catholic Athletic League  2nd team. Bellarmine, a Division I powerhouse, advanced to the CCS finals, but also lost, 0-2.

Stephanie is planning to play NCAA soccer at West Chester University in Pennsylvania this Fall. West Chester, a NCAA DII school, and is ranked #3 nationally. Simon has offers from University of Washington and UCLA and is still waiting to hear from others. Meanwhile, he is heading off to Switzerland in April to play with his team, the Santa Cruz County Breakers 88 in the prestigious Bellinzona Tournament. The Bellinzona Tournament has only invited three teams from the US in the past 70 years and the Breakers will face the youth academy teams from FC Barcelona, Tottenham Hotspur and Palmerias to name a few.

Good Luck Simon and Steph!!!!
