Our most immediate and important goal is to call a vicar who will provide the leadership and guidance needed to continue our current ministries and grow in new directions.

*   Becoming a Parish

We are on the verge of applying to become a parish and look forward to calling our new priest to be the first rector of St. Philip’s.

ownership and understanding of how a life of faith and service can bring blessing to all involved.

*   Facilities

While our facility has many advantages in the variety of spaces available for different uses, much of the building is old and in need of upgrades. Volunteers have redecorated Sunday School rooms, repaired the roof, landscaped the property etc. Within the next few years, we will need to have some major work done, including replacing the roof and rewiring the Sunday School rooms. We desire to be good stewards of God’s house and wish to develop a five to ten year strategic plan to identify and accomplish all the upgrades that will be needed to serve current and future ministries.

*   Outreach

We wish to develop ministries in the area of spiritual growth, by providing additional opportunities for worship, Bible study and prayer, and by conducting seminars and retreats that will be open to the community at large.

St. Philip’s supports many community activities by making our facility available for use by numerous groups. We wish to continue and expand this practice.

*   Lay Ministry

We have a number of ministries in place, led by dedicated committees or individuals. We would like to see every member be active in at least one ministry, leading to an increased sense of

involvement in ministry of those current members who are less active.

*   Growth

We feel a strong sense of community at St. Philip’s, which we are eager to maintain while welcoming moderate growth over the next few years. We also desire to encourage increasingly regular attendance and

*   Stewardship

We will continue to encourage our members in the use of their time, talents and financial resources for the support of our ministries. We will continue to promote proportional giving and the goal of attaining tithing through incremental steps.

The ministry to our young members has always been a key focus area. We will continue to make this ministry a priority and wish to do this in part by hiring additional staff in order to give the elementary, middle and high school groups the essential and different emphasis each deserves.

*     Music

We are attempting to retain the services of a dedicated accompanist. In the future we would like to hire a Music Director who will select special music and train the choir.

The acoustics of the sanctuary are less than ideal from a musical point of view. We wish to investigate options for improving the acoustic quality.

We will seek to rent all areas of the upstairs office space, with the goal of funding expanded ministries.
