*     St. Philip’s church is calling a spiritually mature and experienced priest who will lead us into future growth. She/he will have a broad theological background and experience in ecumenism, able to respect and embrace the theological diversity that exists in the congregation, valuing, as we do, that each member has something to offer.

*     We seek a person of faith and prayer who is ever growing in Christ and who can provide opportunities for spiritual growth and development for our members. We want to hear inspirational and intellectually challenging sermons that flow from the Bible lessons and are related to our daily lives.

*     The children (Sunday school and nursery) and youth (middle school and high school) are important ministries within St.

*     We require a priest who can work successfully in a team with lay people. St. Philip’s is a medium-sized, pastor-centered congregation and the priest is involved in almost all aspects of congregational life in either a supervisory or team member capacity.

*     We seek a priest who is willing to voice his/her own opinions while being flexible and willing to negotiate in controversial matters. New approaches and ideas are welcome. This quality would be expected in Diocesan matters as well as within the congregation.

*     Our preference is for a leader with an informal interpersonal style who is outgoing, socially engaging, a good listener, and approachable. A sense of humor is highly valued by our congregants!

Philip’s. The priest acts in a supervisory and supporting capacity for our teams of leaders of these groups. We want a priest who will foster an inclusive and child-friendly environment in all aspects of church life.

*     Congregants are interested in thought-provoking interactions and those which help people to figure out answers for themselves. Encouraging and involving the congregation in decision-making is as important as being able to be decisive at times regarding policy and program.
